The time you send an email greatly impacts its rate of engagement. So what do you do when your recipients are located in more than one time zone? With a HubSpot Pro or Enterprise account you can use the Smart Send feature to schedule emails based on the contact's time zone. Here's how you can add Smart Send to your inbound marketing toolkit:

How to set up Smart Send

    Step 1: Create an email

Create your email, select the recipients, then go to the Send or schedule tab and choose Smart Send.

Step 2: Select a time to send your email

Select the time you want your recipients to receive your email. HubSpot automatically queues your email to send at your chosen time, according to the contact's time zone. You can see how many recipients are in each time zone and what time (in your time zone) the email will be sent to them.

When you're ready, hit Schedule to send your email using Smart Send.

    Conclusion

Some things to keep in mind when using Smart Send:

    • Your email may take up to 24 hours to be delivered to every contact. This means that you won't get a complete picture of its performance until then.
    • If the recipient's time zone is unknown, the email will send based on your HubSpot account's time zone.
    • If you schedule an email to send at a time that's already passed in a recipient's time zone, it will send at that same time the following day.

Smart Send allows you to send an email when it will be best received by all of your recipients, regardless of their time zone. And that's what inbound marketing is all about – creating the best possible experience for your users.
